What Is Your Biggest Business Bottleneck?

What's Your Challenge Growing Your Business?I‘m working on a very cool project that I think is going to help entrepreneurs in a HUGE way .. and I would love to get your help in making sure I’m on the right path. One of the greatest tragedies I see in the business world is all of the amazing experts, coaches and small business owners that have a powerful gift or brilliant insight to share .. but they have absolutely NO idea how to do it. They’re the “best kept secret” in their market, and if they could only learn how to market and get their message out to the world, their business (and income) would literally explode. Do you fit this category? Do you feel like you’ve got something valuable to share, but you don’t know how to market or monetize it? If so, I would LOVE your feedback and help. I’m in the process of creating some new content that will help entrepreneurs, coaches, teachers, speakers and professionals FINALLY earn what they deserve – and be able to make a great living doing what they LOVE. I think it’s a crime that so many people are doing a job they HATE .. because they have to. Stats show that more than 80% of people in North America have no passion for what they’re doing right now! Isn’t that AWFUL? The only thing that could be worse is .. you being one of them! In any case, I am working on some powerful new ideas and training, and I’m looking for some direct feedback and comments. Over the course of the next few weeks, I’ll be posting some questions here on the blog, and I’m looking for some feedback from you. All I need you to do is answer the questions as concisely and directly as you can, so that I can hear from you and know that I’m on the right track. The benefit to you is that by being involved in this process, you’ll get access to some of the new training that I’m creating, and get some free bonuses that I’ll share as I get them developed – based on your feedback. So .. if you’re game, here’s the first question I would LOVE to hear your comments on ..

What is the single biggest constraint that is holding you back from growing your business right now?

Simply post a comment below with your answer. Tell me what the one key thing is that, if you could remove it, would help open up the floodgates of growth and profit for your business. What’s the biggest bottleneck in your business right now? Let me know by commenting below, and thank you in advance!]]>

1. Biggest bottleneck for me is monetizing my talents because I am a very "out of the box" professional. I am an intuitive reader and Advanced Theta Healing Practitioner. I also have a solid business background, but I am being called to help people on deep levels to work with their core beliefs and shift them into empowering new beliefs. It is a privilege. This is not mainstream, but it is powerful work. I am working on my book which will certainly help me in terms of residual product sales, but in the meantime, its been a challenging process bringing in the money now as so many who need my service seem to be in survival mode.

3. Greg,

My biggest problem is keeping my employees working while I'm away.

I travel a lot, and while I have an exceptionally talented team, but, it seems that the old adage "when the cats away the mice will play" is true.

And while I can "manage" my team from the road, it becomes very taxing on me.

What advice do you have in keeping your employees on task while your out of the office?

1. Hi,
as part of my Mission: Save Effort & Time – This is what you CAN do
Focus on solving & solution (de focus on the problem it only drains energy intensifies confusion)
See it the way you want it & visualize it as achieved (juices you up to do what it takes)
Communicate your concerns neutrally ask your employees for solutions & check plans (creates trust & willingness)

This Works 🙂

1. Hi Shireen:
You're using a lot of 'fuzzy' words and concepts here that most people have a really difficult time translating to value. You need to get more concrete, specific, practical and clear about what you offer and what you do.

11. Fear of letting go of my current job. In this economy I feel blessed to have a job/pay check. I don’t want to walk away until I see significant revenue from the biz. And I dont put in as much effort as I need to to create the biz because I have a job.

Thank you for allowing me to express my thoughts, than more than my thoughts are the help of others like yourself, flashes of consciousness that one sometimes is allowed to connect to the light.

My personal experience is that really deeply down in my sub consciousness y probably always known what I have to change to improve myself in order to clear my business and personal bottlenecks, but I have been too selfish to realize what it is due to my activities were focus on my self reward, and thinking that I was a genius, and big-shot, and wanting all the goodies for myself instead of shearing it with others.

The moment I have began to force myself outside the comfort zone and confronting to do what deeply inside my heart tells me to do, for the good of others as well as for myself and I can admit in public without fear what my mistake has been to produce the bottleneck, I feel I begin to free myself and initiate a humble but effective progress in my journey.

In other words if you’re not conscious and take off your shield you can’t change and therefore you can help others which means you can progress and you can help yourself.

Kind regards

21. Greg, Ever since hooking up with you and Harv I have cleaned up my goals, created plans, established attainable milestones and put the plans into action. Most have been associated with real estate. My vehicles have been establishing corporate rentals with various marketing plans and REO's. The REO's are set up where every third purchase is a keeper and a rental. The others are picked and developed as flips. I have crews in place for the past two years. All plans have been "win wins" in as much as the buyers and/or tenants are VERY satisfied, I keep many people working (crew and various other skilled people), and the small number of "investors" I use for hard money are paid on time and a very good percent on their loans to me.

I am VERY proud of my plans and goals and have been able to replicate the model numerous times. Certainly it could be done by others as it is very simple. (by the way, Simple is what I certainly learned from you vs. easy). Anyhow, the only drawback at this point is finding additional "investors". I have not gotten very active in this search. The house candidates are plentiful both in my home state and in others that I have been branching out to (Texas).

So that's my story. I certainly believe that I have a great story to tell and also believe that this set of plans is a great way for others to attain their financial goals and grow in self confidence.

My plans cover internet sites for promotion, selling, and blogs as well as detailing and estimating all renovation projects (for both financial stability, profit, and goal time setting).

I would be very happy to chat with you about any of these topics. Again, I thank you and Harv for my success. Thanks.

George

31. Being able to help clients have a breakthrough when they come up with reasons not to engage my services. For example: I don’t have money to invest in that program right now (when they very well know that it will help them solve all their problems!) Then they can borrow money to go on a holiday….hmnnnn…what do I need to do to make that right?

33. Getting an audience.

With my skills in creating video with quality sound,
and since YouTube is the second most used search
engine, I’m sure it won’t be hard to find people
interested in getting more clients with promo
videos on their websites.

Having the right type of video with the right script is
all an entrepreneur needs on their website to get
higher conversion rates, and that’s how I hope
to help people.

Now it’s just a matter of getting the word out.

35. The single biggest constraint is “me” – attempting to do “too much” and not having a program in place to reproduce some of what I do and have someone trained to do/ explain/deal with the more routine details. Freeing my time up more to concentrate on the “big” things and on generating more “reproducible” work to help pay for more staff to assist etc.

41. Hello Greg

I am an intuitive person, so traveling this path called creating a business seems unwieldly. I see so many opportunities: I often see them as unrelated, but as I progress I begin to understand their significance. Getting funding for my business
and having a cohesive comprehensive hip-pocket plan would make it unbelievable.
I should have started with marketing first, but it took a year or two to just understand the lingo of marketing and systems.

43. As a small business owner I have been frustrated with the cost of advertising. My business is new and so the word has to get out in some way. I have chosen to advertise in various publications in Calgary but the amount it costs has proven to outweigh the benefits. I also run a webstore and have spent money on search engine optimization and purchasing website advertising. Again – the results have been minimal and the response is that search engine optimization takes some time to “kick In”.
I am in the process of relocating to Panorama Mountain Village in BC.
Word of mouth will work wonders here cause it is so small and there is a steady stream of tourist traffice looking for things to do and purchase. The webstore is still a challenge.
My last thing would be “set-up” and the buisness side of business.
Banking, Credit Cards, Business Licenses, Accounting, Shipping, etc. This is all very important but I also have to be availalble to service clients (evolutionwell.ca) as I provide numerous facials, biofeedback, eyelash extensions, wellness planning, etc and I’m a one woman show.

47. I am a life-change mentor/coach for women who struggle with past abuse or most other issues (but specialize in past abuse) I help them see their past is NOT who they are and their true selves are waiting to be front and center. I have volunteered in support group settings for years. I want to launch my own business. I am educated, experienced, intuitive and creative. I love group settings and working with others one on one and need PR. I admit it is hard to be my own PR. I realize the internet is a great source as well, but feel it is impersonal on such an important subject. It doesn't matter if a woman is a celebrity or in college, I can assist and help get their life back on the track right where it should have been all along.

49. I find the biggest business bottleneck for me is establishing an new venture. I am currently in the auto/equip leasing business and failed to get the right mix of clients and funding in place so we were too small to survive the credit crunch and recession. Now I want to move into another area that is service business that won't require a lot of capital but my weakness is marketing on a bigger scale.

50. Hi Greg

I would say the biggest obstacle would be having the right mind set with a clear goal for short term, mid term, and long term…Along with not having enough money to buy more homes….And having this idea which i think would be bigger then comfree and could compete with the mls service but again I dont know where to start with it.

53. I run poker events at pubs & clubs (it's free to play & we charge the venue a per head cost). I have a franchise so I have map boundaries I must stay within. I have about 10 possible venues I could opperate in. I am in 4 currently. I have been in some of the others before and some won't even consider trying us. The complaint is the venues don't see enough ROI to continue or don't believe they will make money if they start.
So the more players come to the event the more money I make (from the venue) & the more money the players spend while they are there the more money the venue makes.
How do I get more players to come to each event without too much more expense to me? ie it's already free so I can't offer a feebie & I already put up good prizes which eats into my pocket.
How do we get the players to spend more while they are there? We already offer an incentive to spend by giving them extra chips if they do. We have franchise guidelines to stick to concerning this.
We cannot charge an entry fee to play the game as it is illegal in my State.
Thanks 🙂

55. I would say that my biggest bottleneck so far (in my 3 year long entrepreneurial journey) is the capacity to delegate. In a BIG business delegation/outsourcing is automatic where in my case my mind will dwell on "how can I do this?"

At first, you might have thought that my comment implied lack of finances, and this is what i thought up until i've grown enough to understand that all it takes is a differentiation in MINDSET.

So this is what i am looking for in order to grow… the MINDSET of a BIG Business owner

PS: Greg, I wish you the quickest recovery, so that you can focus on the stitches of the DisEngaged Entrepreneurs 🙂

Also I am getting advice to pick a niche but I have no clue where to start picking out a niche that I am passionate about, how do I identify a niche am passionate about?

61. Timing for this question is good. I am just coming off a one month sabbatical where i had hoped among other things that I would come back to my business with a renewed vigour and answers to questions just like this, alas I still have the questions but not the answers.

The roadblock is likely me. I have ideas, but I lack the resources and abilities to find the people that can do what i need to move things forward. I am motivated though to allow more people in and trust.

63. Thanks for asking! Establishing credibility for a good and timely service… helping entrepreneurs and business owner's maximize their potential to obtain a loan in these challenging times for banks. Overcoming the technical aspect of getting our first book published (to serve as a kind of "business card" for subsequent coaching assistance) in hardback and then set up on our website as an e book (all that entails… pay pal, icon of book, securing the pdf, linking it, etc) We don't have physical access to "tech geeks" so must rely on our own research, etc. We're trying to minimize the cost element of having someone else do i and my right brain tendency could use a Step 1, Step 2, etc I'm a quick study but the whole thing just gets overwhelming at times. We anticipate offering other books so it makes sense to "own" the how-to process. I understand if this is beyond the scope of your intent. Thanks for staying the course in offering advice and assistance. Best regards Dawn

65. Hi, I have tried a few businesses and initially they have had good income and now all have failed due to my husband's interference. I have to figure out a way to convince him to let me do my own thing. He is a extremely jealous person very insecure and very dominating person.

69. Wealth is how most of us measure our success – wealth in business means profit – it is futile to run a business when you don't focus on profit. Every aspiration I have come across talks about efforts that one must do (sometimes extreme) to get to that profitable situation. Come up with a solution "THE EASIEST POSSIBLE WAY" that is so unique – no one has come up with rather than tagging along the trendy crap that most coaches are coming up with.

On the external side of bottlenecks…marketing myself, getting out there to get more business. Keeping up with technology and trends is time consuming.

73. My own fear of success.
IE if I am successful will I get more clients than I can cope with.
As a lone practitioner who is also a housewife with borderline ME. The fear is that I will run out of energy. RESULT Have always had just enough to pay the bills and occasionally more than enough to put some away. To me that is successful but not rich rich. And much to be grateful for.

75. WOW Greg, you have a lot of enlightened souls responding on here! I relate to most of them with the same issues. I think most of us know that it starts with us focusing on what we DO want and keeping the negativity out! I too am working in a non-mainstream field of alternative wellness. I find that people either need practical knowledge- ie. how to design a marketing piece, how to find their niche market or they need the spiritual coaching to teach them that their thoughts are actions and that you can manifest whatever you want- even clients. Sometimes they need both! Good luck with your program!

77. Hi Greg,
What a great idea!
My biggest ‘bottleneck is ‘ I don’t know how to tell people about my energy work…I have an unusual gift that can literally transmute old energy patterns in a person, with their permission the outmoded patterns of behavior, beliefs etc they are ready to let go of are literally changed into what is truly in their heart and opportunities show up in their lives to follow through with. I struggle to know how to and who to offer/market this gift to . Maybe summed up in fear of my power and what to use it for?
Thanks!

83. Thanks, Greg for the opportunity.

I think my biggest stumbling block ultimately comes down to TIME & FOCUS—and a SYSTEM that works. After lots of searching and re-thinking (after massive losses due to the markets), I’ve finally “planted my flag” with a business model, marketing a variety of services that are extremely helpful to small and mid size businesses everywhere (targeted internet and mobile marketing), as well as developing teams to do the same. While the opportunity is extraordinary, my challenge is how to attract the right people. Where do I focus my effort—balanced with my own marketing of the services—balanced with learning and study. All are essential.

I need a way to EFFICIENTLY CONNECT with the RIGHT people, while keeping myself out “on the court” and at the same time allowing for my own continued development.

87. So many inspiring and thought-provoking comments! Capital is my biggest bottleneck, blocks the possibiity of producing high quality samples of artwork and a guidebook that I offer to a very specific market niche. But just reading some of the comments has already given me ideas on how maybe to market without that initial capital.

91. Great question 🙂
There is nothing more exciting for me than helping others express and share their passion with the world. I LOVE providing others what I myself could not find – one person who could walk me step-by-step through the maze of creating an online presence based on my passion.

In my 17+ years of computer and internet experience, I myself found the process of learning all the how-to's overwhelming and confusing. Sure there are courses and people to hire, but I wanted ONE person to actually walk me through the steps to creating my online business.

So, as a life coach and online business coach, I get to provide this very thing to others with a special program I have called Packaging Your Passion. Through the magic of "screen sharing" I am able to "co-create" my client's website, ebook, video, online course, and more one-on-one, live, and from anywhere in the world! They simply get to watch, listen, learn, and create with me as I put the pieces together.

THE BOTTLENECK: it's frustrating to know that I offer EXACTLY what is needed to stream-line the process of "packaging one's passion" into an online business BUT need to have MORE people know about it!

If I only had what I now love to offer others, I could have saved years of effort. So, while I'm extremely passionate about helping others, I have created a bottleneck of flow because I've been wee-bit "shy" about putting myself out into the world so that others may know of how I can help them.

Being "shy" in the past has been painful and has cost me dearly. It serves no one! Time to be bold, embrace my value, and reach out and touch people's lives.

There is no other way.

Your "I Am Money" report really helped clean up and clarify this for me, so thank you.

Thanks for letting me share 🙂

WHAT ARE THE MARKETING STRATEGIES TO MAKE IT APPEALING TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION ESPECIALLY HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS. YOUR KIND INPUT WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED . THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION.

1. Hi Arden, my first thought is whether or not high school students are a good target market for a resort .. ? They do not typical have the money or funds to be able to pay to stay at a resort. Maybe I misunderstood, but that seems to be a bit of a disconnect for me.

1. Hi Shireen:
Maybe part of the problem is that it sounds like you're trying to push your friends and family to come to your meetings and get involved. My suggestion would be not to have to push anyone, because if you are, there's something wrong in your marketing to begin with. And friends and family are not the best way to build a business, because you always run out of them eventually! Your goal should be to develop strong marketing processes and funnels that are regularly attracting NEW prospects to your business that are eager to attend your programs, because you've connected with a pain or frustration they have.

97. Gregg, biggest bottleneck for me is Credibility. I know what is coming. I know what is here. I know what we are facing. How do you tell people that we are facing The Beast of Prophecy and Heaven is about to be Unveiled. Apocalypse is greek for "The Lifting of the Veil" and the destructions of our misperceptions, not the world.

99. Hi Greg, first thanks to you and your powerful team.

My biggest constraints which is holding me back is not knowing how to market my knowledge to investors, I myself is a RE investor, graduated from your 7 day residential course and now after buying 5 properties I have capped myself that banks don’t lend me anymore, I would like to show to other investors and would like to JV with them but I don’t know how I can approach that market. I also work full-time which I don’t enjoy but have to do until some thing change in my financial cash today portfolio.

Any insight from you pointing me to the right direction will be really appreciated.

1. Hi Ali – there are a LOT of people out there with money that don't know what to do with it. They've gotten hurt in the stock market, their own real estate hasn't done well, and they're scared. When you can show them you've got a track record of consistent, positive growth, that's a huge thing. I would definitely recommend that you focus on JVs and developing a plan on how to attract people to invest with you – not necessarily other real estate investors, but people that DON'T have the knowledge of real estate investing – because to them, you're an authority that knows something they don't.

101. One of my biggest bottlenecks ( you have sent us) is Emails. I do have seperate files that I throw stuff in but it is the ones that break/touch my heart, the cries for help, the " Can I please, please help them?" I receive up to 400 emails a day with people wanting me to connect to their deceased loved ones ( for free) to find their lost pet, or freinds and family membrers who have disappeared, why did they committ suicide, etc. etc. I answer them all; sometimes to simply remind them that what they ask me to do is how I earn my living and I do many for free. My heart breaks with the stories and it stresses me out to know I can only spend so many hours a day doing this. HOw do I help them wihout losing my day/work hours to this?

1. You simply need to develop a system that ensures that you are not personally having to answer the emails. You need to have a front-end process when people send you an email, they get an automatic response that sets their expectation NOT to expect a response, since you get too many emails to respond to. Then in that email, you tell them that if they're interested in working with you, then you send them to an online application form where they submit their information. Basically, they are applying to get direct contact with you. That will eliminate 50-70% of the emails and people you have to deal with, since most will not go and do this little bit of work. I don't know what your business model is, but the point is that you should not be communicating directly with ANYONE one on one until they've demonstrated a willingness and ability to become a paid client.

103. The biggest bottleneck in my business is that I am not sure that the business I am in matches with my core values. I would like more insight to after having isolated the top 5 core values, how to apply that to a business.

104. Hi Greg

My biggest challenge at the moment is finding corporate clients in the middle of this current recession who still have a commitment and budget for training and development for their staff.

105. My biggest obstacle is getting appointments with key decision makers in a small niche market. Voice mail and gate keepers make it extremely difficult to get through on the phone. Each of us recieve so much email, we seldom open mail from unrecognized senders. My challenge is…how to get through all of this?

106. cash-flow / funds to feel free to take action on the plans i know will work and take the business to where i feel it should be today, so that space is made for creation to bring the next steps to me.

107. I want to let people how I have been helped by reading self help books and how I was helped to gain self confidence and self esteem. Because from when I was in school and all through my working life up until just recently I had a very bad self image and my self esteem was really down. But I just don’t think people need this sort of thing because there are alot of other people who can do that sort of thing like Anthony Robbins, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Louise Hayes and many others. So there are other people in the Self Help Industry and I can’t see what I can do.

108. My bottleneck is simply not being to say what’s on my mind and share what I know (which I tend to devalue due to mental conflict). Nobody but me knows what I am capable of.

109. Single business bottleneck in my business is that
I have no clue how to begin it in the first place.

What is it that
OTHERS would consider my greatest buyable strength ?
In what form would it be bought – by whom ?
Then come
stuff like funds, registration, law, systems, so-called qualifications, etc !
No clue ||||

110. Hi Greg, I totally appreciate all of the content you share as well. My biggest problem getting my services out there is probably the number one and two reasons for almost everyone. Time and Money! I work two jobs to support the family and the wife works full time as well. So I’ve created my empire in the wee hours of the morning before catching some sleep to get up and go to work. Now I’ve finally created the machines that can and will generate the money I’m looking for. I’ve covered the social media part of getting the word out but a good portion of my market isn’t on line or involved in social media yet. So the only way I’m going to succeed is to advertise locally via radio and news paper. Those two avenues are quite costly. I just checked out our local radio station and they want $250 a week or $180 a week if you use 5 weeks. So I’m looking at $1000 for the radio and then news paper on top of that. But I can say once I do it I’m going to be all set. My marketing business created http://www.brocktondealsandcoupons.com and we have over 200 local subscribers that are waiting to get coupons via text message or email. I’ve already started and have been sending out the coupons for local businesses for free so I can get the name and how it works out there. Once I have over a thousand subscribers I can start charging the businesses a small fee.
That being said. It’s always Time and Money that get in the way!
Chris

111. Hi Greg,
I actually just sent you a message on FB in regards to this situation but I will post again here in case someone else may have some insight. I recently discovered my passion as a portrait photographer, graduated from college 4 months ago and started my business. I have next to no income and surviving on credit cards which are almost maxed out.

I have a unique niche in my area being the only photographer offering dude-oir portraiture as well as boudoir for which there’s not too much competition. My bottleneck is obviously money but I really need to reach my target market who has the income to pay for my services without batting an eye. I do not have a studio – I work in the comfort of the client’s home. These people are not in my circle of friends or acquaintances and I don’t know how to reach them.

Sincerely,
Shannon Holand
