  1. thanks for this encouraging and inspiring conversation
between two passionate people. it gives me a glimpse of another, hopefull reality, a parallel dimension, as you put it yourselves.

what resonated the most in me was the sentence
‘as long as you’re authentic the world is your oyster’…

i really appreciate the parts as well were you talk about where you come from, how an idea or conviction is crucial, as well as daring to speak your mind, about overcoming obstacles, and a healthy critical way of looking to what’s happening in the world today and being motivated and inspired to attack these problems to the roots, with a whole new way of teaching life to the next generation! how i like knowing that this is real!!

  2. Absolutely amazing Greg and Mike. Many blessings to you Mike for wanting to improve the education system and with a sincere desire from your heart to help make the world a better place.

  3. Greg, what an awesome interview. I have always been a fan of Mike Dillard and you brought out the best in this interview. It is something that we all need to get up to speed on.

  4. I took some notes and these are my take aways:

Key thought is to become trusted to your audience.
Find a great question and ask yourself that question everyday.
Ask successful people what they are doing that the masses are not.
    Provide value to your audience.

I agree that, ‘Too big to fail’ is basically a scam that the American taxpayer
    will pay for for generations.

In the aftermath the ‘Too big to fail’ companies have just gotten bigger.

    This makes no sense.

I don’t know what the solution is.

  5. Thank you for introducing Mike Dillon. I wholeheartedly share his thoughts and believes. His vision should be an inspiration to all , particularly those who are influential today, and those who will replace them.

  6. WOW!! What a change agent, very introspective! As a retired counselor, one of my thoughts always was how to change the educational system to provide for the real world and help themselves and then widen their influence; always it was based on Steven Covey’s Principles; but when I listened to Mike talk about his school, all I can say is “YES!” count me in. Thank you both, great insight, great forethought.

  7. Thank you Greg and Mike for giving me hope and providing me the framework for continuing to build my version of Mike’s world in the world of mens emotional intelligence.

Unfortunately that’s mostly an oxymoron in the world we live in today.

As I see it, one of the major root causes of the corruption and fraud that Mike talks about in the world is the lack of strong, healthy, men being present in the lives of young men growing up. I know it was for me.

Had I had a father and other extended male family members to give me guidance and to absorb healthy manhood from, my path in life would have been much more focused and less fraught with expensive, unconsciously entered into financial and marital transactions.

The result is that most of us have grown up without this healthy influence and we end up having to make up our version of what manhood looks like. What too many of us end up doing is acting out the deep emotional wounding that we’re left with and not even aware of that is “driving our bus.”

This kind of “manhood” is unfortunately being acted out in full color on the world screen today. It’s happening via men who think that to be successful is to amass as much money, as many possessions, and exert as much power and control as possible.

In so doing the current brand of power brokers are exacting the kind of price in the bewildered lives of the majority of the rest of the honest people in the world that both of you so accurately describe.

It’s heartening to have found a treasure chest of support, intelligence and education through Simple Wealth Greg.

My mission is to do the same with the deep need for emotional literacy among men.

    Thank you

    1. This is the first time I have replyed to someone else on a blog. So I am writing this as if I would be writing Botajet directly. In fact, that is what I thought I would be doing with this reply, but as I go to post it it looks like it will end up among Greg’s comments again.

      To Botajet,

I enjoyed reading your comments. I am just starting out in the internet marketing world and am considering various niches and where my passions lie. Emotion intelligence is one possibility and have been deeply and actively involved in dealing with my own life since a divorce in 2000. And my financial imprint from my family of origin led me in a destructive path for most of my life and is a continued struggle. But these are learned patterns which can be replaced by new patterns with some work. Anyway, do you have a website. I would love to visit to see what you are doing. ([email protected])

      1. Hi Ken. Congratulations on taking the plunge into the internet marketing ocean. I’ve been in the mix for the last year and a half and do have a website but, as we speak, my web guy is reconstructing it to reflect my coaching practice for men as well as posting my affiliate link to Mike Dillard’s The Elevation Group.

Mike’s message and overall strategy and dedication to the medium sized and little guy, as I see it, is something that I have been looking for without knowing it for quite some time.

I’m rebuilding my website to reflect my passion for Mike’s message and for getting it out to as many people who are able to hear it. I suspect that many people will neglect to hear the wisdom in Mike’s message, especially given the human tendency to assume that everything’s just “fine!”

I coach men into emotional intelligence, which in plain language, is helping them see how their unacknowledged and unresolved emotions and feelings help take them off a true track and purpose for their life. Too many guys end up in the weeds by not knowing what or who’s driving their emotional bus.

I speak from first hand experience, having learned my lessons the hard way. Which, in my humble opinion, makes me good at what I do. Because if you haven’t lived what you’re trying to teach, you ain’t going to be very good at it.

I’d be honored to share what I do with you should you want to know more.

If you move quickly, you can catch my old site before my web guy ditches it. You can see it at: http://www.bertbotta.com

        Cheers Ken,

        Bert

    2. I resonate pretty strongly with Ken + Bert, emotional intelligence, and healthy authentic male role models are very, very, very, very helpful, and directly related to the economy. There is an equal issue with women (“Can raising hemlines, raise the economy?”)

Either way, I’m glad this got mentioned. Rock on 🙂

      1. Thanks for the reply Jason. It’s funny that you mention women. I’m sponsoring a woman’s version of my men’s Living From The Heart workshop for Men that’s actually taking place today through tomorrow evening.

Let me know if I can support you in any way.

        Bert

        1. Very cool stuff Bert! I love it, thank you!

I just launched my new brand on New Year’s Eve, and if you could spread the word or promote it, that’d be wonderful! I really appreciate it:

  8. Great discussion! Love the private college (school) plan.
Next up… private banks, title companies and insurance.

  9. Not only is this great info and Mike a great model… but it sparked some great discussion here too. Thanks, Greg, for these great videos & phone calls — you are certainly on a role this week!

  10. This is awesome — My daughter and I joined the Elevation Group recently — for our “financial education” and exploring how it all worked !! I’m also a follower of you, Greg, and believe in your “trusted adviser” role in business and relationships, large or small. So to hear you both sincerely talking was a pleasure — More of the same please — I will certainly “stay in the conversation” to learn and contribute what I can to others.

  11. Greg,
This interview with Mike Dillard is wonderful!
It is good to view through Mike’s words shared, how he has transformed himself into becoming the Trusted Authority in his field of choice- Financial Markets. It is all about making that decision, and doing the do. The story is very real; that why it is of great value.

I am also encouraged and further inspired from hearing of his plans for an educational institute. His vision and plans are beautiful words to my ears. I share a similar vision of creating a training institute as well. Recently, in a community development meeting that I attended, the name was suggested: ‘The Institute of Practical Learning.’ Our mission is to provide work/business skills and knowledge that will bring about empowerment and self-reliance to dis-advantaged youth and others through creation and support of individual and community business ownership. I like your component of re-defining the current moral compass that is necessary for positive change in our business environment, and our human societies as a whole.

Thanks for your contributions to the needed change.

    All the best,
    George

p.s. It has been just great to be receiving all of your offered content and training. I hope to be engaged in full during the next enrollment the Trusted Authority series.

  12. Always good to listen to someone who can stand up against the “system” and then who is in a position to make a significant difference in a large number of people. I agree with where he is coming from but when I listen to people you recommend I generally expect to hear some practical tips on how they got there. Maybe after hearing Vishen I became spoiled. Vishen laid out a blueprint with a realistic path to follow. Mike simply told me things I already know from listening to Porter Stansberry and Doug Casey material and anyone else out there like them. I can always learn more, but I am following you because I am on a path to make internet businesses my retirement plan. I am 100% behind Mike’s mission and continued successes.

  13. Thank you Gregg and Mike. First rate material and a most important project. The point of just making a start is crucial.

  14. Hi Greg
Thanks for sharing Mike’s philosophy in this authority interview. I have been with Mike and EVG as a beta tester since its inception. I followed Mike because I believe in his vision, read Magnetic Sponsoring when he first wrote it and have followed his advice ever since simply because he is a trusted authority in whatever he does. What is important for people to realize, its not about gloom and doom and the world going to hell, it’s about altering the course of the world from its present downward spiral of corruption, fraud and lies and taking resonsibility at a personal level and making it a wonderful world to live in with hope, oppportunity and happiness! Opportunity is the key here and personal empowerment. I would recommend membership to the Elevation Group to everyone!

  15. Hi, Greg and Mike,

Thank you so very much for this interview. Hearing you both talk is like hearing myself – I totally agree with your assessment of where we are, where we are headed and what we need to do.

I am passionate about the upcoming challenge of the financial health – or lack of it – by the Baby Boomers, and have already laid the groundwork to become the Trusted Authority for this cohort, focusing on education and re-direction of their lives, as they age and head into retirement.

All the same issues that you discuss have to be conveyed to this group, but their challenge is that they do not have as many years to start from the beginning and build their knowledge and wealth. We know that knowledge and wealth are inter-dependent, as David Woods has said – “if you are not as wealthy as you would like, there is something you don’t know”.

Time to give one and all “what they don’t know” —–

  16. I am In Other World, thanks Mike and Greg ,
I follow Mike Dillard from long time and its teachings , its so hypnotic and Great to listen him.
Indeed you Both shared very powerful msg ,
    I Thank you from Heart!

  17. Thanks so much for sharing this conversation. I am a small biz owner in the health and wellness field. Much of what was discussed here are parallel to what I am moving forward with in my biz including the blog diary, supporting peers in the field and helping clients to step into their power. I have some local media interviews coming up and this has been very reassuring and inspiring to keep on track and move forward…let the market be the judge and have the confidence/permission to be myself. I hope that my message will resonate and help people just as you have done. Thanks again!

  18. Thanks for a great interview Greg

I got quite a lot out of it and had to keep rewinding it to write notes.

I have an idea for a niche that I want to be a trusted authority in and the ideas that this provided me with helped me gain a lot of clarity that will allow me to create something different than what is already out there.

The thing that I really liked was the part that Mike pointed out, right from the start he made it clear I am not an expert, I don’t know what I’m talking about, or the one with all the experience. I am going to become better at my subject and share my journey with you and be your tour guide.

I also loved the phrase he used about “even Jesus had enemies” it does help get your head around the fact that not everyone is going to appreciate your work but you should focus on those that do and keep going.

  19. Thank you one more time for sharing with us this amazing, yet easy and real action based experience. Now I know for sure am on the right track to becoming the Trusyed Authority in living a CANCER free life! I eill get in touch with Mike Dillard for I want to be part of the University project!
    Julian

  20. Would love to find out more about what you mentioned- how the fed works- who owns the fed etc. Also, any info on how to keep what’s left of our finances would be greatly appreciated.

  21. Very powerful! Thank you for sharing the interview with Mike. It is so refreshing to know that like-minded people are fed up with what has been going on and are willing to step out to make a difference in our world for our children and grandchildren. It brings hope back into the world. God will bless Mike and Elevation Groups efforts!

  22. This was a great interview and great content. I particularly was impressed with Mike’s educational plans, The route that his outlined makes totally sense to me.
first develop the leaders (universities) and then high schools and the kindergartens. Great.

  23. Incredible. I love the huge vision both Mike and yourself have. Elevation.edu sounds absolutely brilliant.

Your open-eyed understanding of the shifting economy is really impressive, and I’d love to know more.

    Powerful stories, guys.

  24. Thank you Greg for sharing this! It is my strong belief that things will change for the better in our world but the old ways have to collapse first. What to me is always facinating is that real change is initiated by ordinary people without any special credentials. Our so called leaders will not bring about change. It is you and me who are passionate to bring about that change. You are doing a great job Greg and Mike has my whole haerted support. Yes – we need to educate the next generation. Thanks again for the stimmulating interview.

  25. Mr Habstritt & co,
Thanks for continuing to put these together. I have been following your
correspondence for about a month and I look forward more and more to your
emails. I appreciate your great effort and genuine concern for all of us.
    Michael Reed

  26. Very inspiring! I’m an artist, public school art teacher, and new entrepreneur! I am stuck in the very school system you claim to be able to change….I’m in! Let’s teach our children how to think, react, and SEE! I want to raise my two little girls (8 and 6) to be a strong influence in our changing world. If you need a willing teacher, I’m right here!

  27. Hi, Greg I enjoyed your interview today, I have been following your posts and am aware of the economic mess as it has been un folding and it is great to hear people like you and mike give us prospective on where we are, as opposed to where we thought we were.

  28. All I can say is, God bless you guys. I am wrighting a book about how everyone can plan for a future with God and this is my first book ever. Now I feel more sure about getting it published than I did an hour ago. Thank you, God Bless.

  29. Hello Greg, what a inspiring video to us who have this small burning desire but not the confidence to break out and grow it. This world is blessed to have people like Mike and yourself Greg that can see outside themselves and reconize what is important for the future of our children and survival of our system if not the universe we all interact in. Thank you!

  30. This is a great topic. Some people make lots of money being authorities, but do not have the knowledge to handle it properly, and sometimes loose most, if not all, of it. Finance education is crucial to the sucessful business person. Thanks Mike & Greg!

  31. Greg, The more I listen to your interviews, the more I realize there is new balance being born. The bright and the good are no longer content to sit and watch. They are banding together to carry this nation forward into a new light. I’d like to think of it as the land of our founding fathers dreams. Thank you.
    Mike, teach the children well.

  32. Great interview! I appreciated the reminder of letting my audience know WHY I’m doing what I’m doing. And I loved it when Mike said, “Give yourself permission to have an opinion, and let the market be your judge.”

“If you’d like to hear more content and training on economics, the financial crisis and how to protect yourself financially going forward, let me know that as well…” YES, emphatically!

  33. Wow!–what an interview. I was so entralled with Mike’s business & more inspiring for me is his vision to implement real transformation in the school/education system. What a great example of becoming a trusted authority–coming from a genuine desire to make a difference in the finacial lives of people, which in turn impacts our whole life & that of society. Thanks to you Greg for who you are & to Mike Dillard for his powerful vision for the world.

I would like to get involved with what you are up to Mike

    Robert Smylski—-Lethbridge AB

  34. Thanks Greg for that interview with Mike. Like Mike said it is time for people to give themselves permission to to have an opinion … and quit worrying about what other people have to say.

  35. Thank you both so much. Its wonderful to hear someone talk about things so truthfully. I am really excited for you about your university. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It inspires me to keep moving forward with what I am doing also.

  36. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity to know Mike Dillard. He has a fine intellect AND ALSO what I call intellectual honesty–he doesn’t turn away from the many truths that he has encountered about himself and the world around him. The foundation of this honesty is a self-esteem that is stable, not fragile or inflated. He is a classic self-made American. Must have had exceptional parents.

  37. Watched Mike’s first video and looking forward to the upcoming ones. Thank you for sending out the notice about his Economic Crisis videos! Thank you to Mike for releasing these to the public!

  38. Very good interview Greg. It so true … you always think you’re not knowledgeable in your profession. We all underrate ourselves. Self-confidence is such a huge asset when you’re self-employed.

  39. Wow! Love your vision for the change in the university level. Let me know if I can help in anyway! I would love to help with changing the school system at the elementary/middle and high school levels.

  40. This was very inspiration. I love the importance on authenticity and genuinity. This stuff is ingraving a powerful foundation and planting seeds in this 19 year old trusted authority. 🙂

  41. I am highly impressed with the level of commitment and vision this guy Mike Dillard has. I hope to hear a lot more from him regarding real economics and his thoughts on the future of our countries financial well being. I can only pray that i will also be able to contribute to the cause of reeducating our children in order to have some integrity in our government.

  42. wow…. i love your idea’s about changing the education system, i think it’s been a long time coming. I applaud you for having the vision to make our childrens lives better by educating them on things that are relative to todays world.
