Trusted Authority Janet Attwood – Finding Your Purpose and Passion

getting clear on what they’re really passionate about and their “purpose”. Recently, I had the chance to interview of my dear friends, who just happens to be one of the world’s top Trusted Authorities when it comes to discovering your purpose and passions. Janet Bray Attwood is the New York Times best-selling co-author of “The Passion Test”, and has the ability to help people discover their “why”. In this exclusive Trusted Authority Interview, I talk to Janet about not only the power and importance of discovering your purpose, but also how she was able to become the Trusted Authority in her market. In this special recording, not only will you gain powerful insight into the process of discovering your purpose (and why it matters), but you’ll also learn how a highly successful speaker, author and trainer was able to become the Trusted Authority by practicing some simple and specific marketing tactics and strategies. Enjoy the interview (about 45 minutes long), and please post a comment letting me know what your biggest takeaway was from this interview! Also note that I’ll also be doing a live teleseminar next week with Janet and her co-author and strategic partnership authority Chris Attwood. The topic is “How To Make A Great Living By Following Your Passion“.  For all the details and to access that training call, go here for more information. 1. I met Janet almost 2 yrs ago at a Passion Test seminar and she took my arms and said to me, “Kelly, your scars are your gift, use them and share your story with the world. People want and need to hear your story, be a speaker.” At that point, I finally accepted that I could be a speaker and share my story of how I got burnt as a 2 yr old and discovered my inner beauty and self esteem. I then wrote my first book called ‘No Risk No Rewards’ and now finishing my second one ‘Self Esteem Doesn’t Come in a Bottle’ Once I followed my passion, everything started happening “magically” and I haven’t looked back. I’m very happy I took her passion test and discovered my true passion and gift in life.

    1. Hi Kelly…. I am so happy that The Passion Test has impacted your life! So happy!!!
I am also so proud of you for listening… to YOU! All my love! Janet

  2. I was introduced to Janet and Chris by Greg at SimpleWealth in 2009. At the time I was feeling lost in my career direction and was desprately trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up (I was 46). As a result, I took the Passion Test, became a Certified Passion Test Facilitator two months later and now I’m so happy in my work that I have to pinch myself!

  3. I love Janet, and I’m not surprised that you are friends, because she radiates the same authenticity and passion that you do Greg. This is my niche–passion and purpose–so hearing her speak about it is so inspiring. Your best life begins today so go for it! Her enthusiasm and joy just jumps through the audio. Thanks for the always great content Greg.

  4. This is Fran (not Frank as the post keeps saying), and I just finished listening and absolutely LOVE the ending: “Be the teacher who is living their teaching!”

  5. Hi Greg, I discovered my passion long ago. (That’s why I returned to the education system for 4 years, graduated in landscape design, and quit my lucrative practice as an osteopath.)

But I’ll watch your interview with Jane anyway, and let you know if I learn something I didn’t know before.

  6. I learned more than expected: I learned to stop beating myself up, be kinder to myself, keep following my heart, and accept that my biggest obstacle is ME.

I also learned to recognise myself as being persistent, rather than stubborn or pig-headed.

And Janet’s endorsement of meditation motivates me to get back to ‘Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation’, the 28-day program by Sharon Salzberg (who also wrote the highly acclaimed ‘Lovingkindness’.)

  7. Greg, Janet you are both an amaizing human beings. Thank you for your work and for the great interview. I know I am only partialy clear on my passions and my purpose in life and I know I am going to stick to yours and Janets teaching for as long as I get crystal clear of my top passions and my life purpose. Thank you again. Iwona

  8. The most valuable lesson for me is: “become the teacher who is living the teaching” – I love it and I truly believe I`ll become one of them:) as I feel true calling for it… I don`t know yet how it is going to look like and how I will do that (in terms of financial investment) but I have just made the decision to join Janet and Chris at their Passion Test Certification Programme in London May next year :)..I feel and I know it is going to change the quality of my life forever!!! Thank you Janet & Greg.

  9. Greg, this interview was amazing. I loved how you described how you learnt not to push a relationship if it’s not flowing. You extended that principle to all of life but then I heard how Janet described how important it is to be persistent. I’d love to be clear on how to be persistent and yet to know when to let go so that I don’t keep hitting my head on the wall! Could you help me get clear on that?

    1. For me, it’s simply a matter of how “difficult” something is. I’m extremely persistent, but only when I can feel there’s a solid reason behind it and I continue to believe that relationship is worth pursuing. Is this someone I actually want to have more in my life? If not, I usually learn that during the process. Not sure I answered the question, but there persistence is important when it moves you closer to where you want to be and to being around the people you want more in your life.

      1. There is a great phrase in here “Is this someone (or something) I want to have more of in my life?”. That is a great starting place to decide whether to persist or not. I also have something that helps me: –
“If I could choose, would this be what I would choose?”.

        With love

  10. Janet reminded me again about why I have taken the chance to walk away from the security of a job as a research scientist to doing what my heart has been asking and wanting. That is to help people get out of jobs that suck the life out of their souls and diminishes their inner light on a daily basis.
I interviewed Janet on my internet radio show http://yourmoneyandyourmindset.com/entrepreneurship/janet-attwood-interview-making-money-from-your-passion/
and I am grateful for what she shared.

  11. Purpose gives rise to passion. Passion fuels the fire, commitment keeps it going. Once you really, really ‘get’ what your passion is, you’ve unleashed the tiger within. Thank you so much for this liberating work.

  12. Wow great interview ! What a positive, giving person. Makes me want to run and tell people, stop, listen to your heart, find your passion, it’s not too late. And to myself, Mina you can live your passions, on all levels ! So many pearls of wisdom here, so much common sense, I’m definitely downloading the transcript. Glad I found this. Thanks guys for sharing.
