My Resignation Letter

To My Dear Clients And Colleagues: It’s a big day for me. I know this may come as a bit of a surprise for many, but I have decided after great reflection that I am retiring from the world of coaching and developing training programs. While I have been blessed to work with thousands of business owners and entrepreneurs, and shared in both their struggles and triumphs .. the time has come for me to refocus my attention and move in a different direction. It’s hard to believe that my first blog post was 7 years ago.  Since then, I’ve posted hundreds of articles, created more than a dozen training programs, personally coached hundreds of business owners, and spoken on stage to hundreds of thousands people around the world. This business has given me the chance to meet and work with many of my greatest heroes and icons – everyone from Richard Branson to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and literally every kind of incredible business and thought leader in between. We’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for good causes, helped get people clear on their bigger future, and been there for so many people when no one else believed in them. It’s been a blast, and I am proud of the significant contribution and impact our company has had on the collective world of entrepreneurship. And I’ve had the blessing to be able to do it the entire time with my best friend Kourosh at my side.  Acting as my greatest cheerleader, my consigliere, my challenger, my protector and my biggest supporter. A lot of people will think I’m absolutely insane to do this, given that we’ve built one of the biggest brands in this industry.  Turning away from a 7 figure business that you owe so much to is very difficult.  But life is about difficult choices. In the interest of truly “practicing what I preach”, I’ve decided to turn my energy from creating content and training programs into a business that I’m super passionate about, and that I feel is the business that I’ve been practicing for my entire life, The other thing is that I love business — and I love doing it more than I do talking or teaching about it.  While building SimpleWealth has been a very rewarding and challenging process, I feel like it’s time to roll my sleeves up again and focus on my next venture.

Here’s what this means for my clients and friends that are wondering.

From this point forward, I don’t plan to create any new training, or launching new coaching programs. No more product launches for our stuff. No more selling from the stage. Rather than creating more content on teaching entrepreneurs how to build their businesses, I’m getting back into the trenches and actually building my own company. Nothing to do with internet marketing, teaching, speaking, affiliate marketing or anything like that. It’s a fun, beautiful, thriving business.  It’s a service business, a local business. It aligns with one of my true, deep passions (animals), and it has the potential to have a dramatic on our planet’s animals – in particular, our beloved pets. I felt like it was time to stop talking about how you grow a business, and instead show you how it’s done.  For real.

However, This Isn’t Goodbye.

And this is important:  I’m not planning to “shut down” this blog or stop communicating with the world. We’ll still have our content and training available to our existing clients.  We just won’t be selling it any more to new clients. In fact, I’ve decided that I will evolve the SimpleWealth blog into a window into my world and life as I grow my business.  You’ll be able to “look over my shoulder” as I struggle and triumph in growing our new business internationally. This blog may just be the closest you’ll get to seeing what it really takes to grow a real business, in the real world. You won’t find me selling a new program I’ve created or anything like that.  Because I won’t be doing any more creation of training content. The truth is, there are lots of great resources and training out there in the world that can help you with every facet of your business While I’m very proud of the training and concepts I’ve created over the years, I am blessed to know a lot of very smart people who are geniuses when it comes to teaching and coaching in this world. Going forward, I will continue to share the occasional resource with you that I think is worth knowing about. I’ll let you know what tools I’m using in my business.  What books I’m reading, what training programs I’m involved in, and what I think are truly the “best” sources of learning and inspiration for the high-growth entrepreneur. You’ll still likely see me speaking occasionally at different events, because speaking is something I love to do.  However, I’ll always be one of the “content” guys, because I’ll have nothing to sell.  And to honest, for me .. that’s a big deal.  It feels completely different when you give a talk from the heart with no underlying motive or purpose that involves selling anything. So I guess the bottom line is .. my relationship with you is going to change.  Evolve.  Shift. But I think you’ll find it continues to help bring you a lot of the things you were looking for when you first subscribed to my list. Only, there will be less ‘selling’ and more ‘showing’. And I’d be honoured for you to come along with me on this journey, as I look to fulfil the promise of SimpleWealth and creating ‘freedom without compromise’ in my own life .. and inspiring you to do the same. Drop me a comment below and let me know what your thoughts are.  I’d love to hear from you, and also know what I can do going forward to help you in your quest for freedom!

  7. Great. I look forward to watching you “practice what you preach.” I mean that in a positive way. Your steps to success will be our hands-on training, so to speak, through your eyes and words. Thank you for letting me tag along. Mickey Hayward

  8. It’s great! Seeing people doing is the best way to learn – at least from my point of view. Maybe some other people learn from theory. I’m the kind of person learning from practicing and doing mistakes (I did big mistakes paying in this way the price for learning!:)). But learning from others’ mistakes really saves you a lot of money and time. That’s how a great teacher teaches. Greg, I wish you good luck and I’m looking to receiving your new messages!

  9. Congratulations on one of the toughest decisions to make – how to gracefully exit a thriving business. Wishing you the best as you pursue your passion. Thank you for SimpleWealth and I look forward to reading about your next steps!

  13. Thank you so much Greg for all the information you have already imparted to myself and others. 1. Hi Laurie – I’ll be talking more about the business in the coming weeks, and using it as a bit of an aquarium as I talk about business and marketing on the blog. So stay tuned ..

  15. Congratulations in your new endeavors and for allowing your heart to speak its truth.
I look forward to being in touch and watching it all unfold.

  16. Greg, I think that this is a perfect move for you to make. After all, you created a very successful business (real estate) to get things rolling and then a very creative and successful “training” business. I makes a lot of sense to me that you could use your perfected skills to build yet another business venture. I will be very interested in following your efforts.

  17. what is the business that you’re creating that has to do with animals as that is
something that I am truly passionate about as well!

    1. Our company’s core value is ‘quality of life” – for the animals, their owners, our team and our industry. I’ll take more about the business as I go forward, so stay tuned. 🙂

  18. Greg – Congratulations on following your passions as they evolve and emerge throughout your life. I wish you great success in your latest endeavor and look forward to watching it unfold. Be well! Lisa

I wish you all the very best and look forward to receiving your continued words of wisdom from the trenches:)

  33. Good for you Greg. At the end of the day you have to listen to your heart or something will always feel “off.” It’s also refreshing to see someone truly transparent about what their passions are. I wish you much success in your new endeavor!

  34. Greg ~ Congratulations on your decision.
I think it was Napoleon Hill who said, successful people make Decisions Quickly and make Changes Slowly. I know you will be blazing new trails for us all to follow. Best of luck and follow your bliss. It’ has been my privilege to learn from you and I salute your courage.
In the words of another great man that I admire, Jim Rohn, “Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.” I look forward to the next chapter. Enjoy the Journey!!! Beth

  35. Hey Greg. You know how I feel, and you know what you’ve done to help me, to help me change the world to live my passion and impact lives with my message. But I want the WORLD to know what you’ve done. I owe you a lot – for introducing me to the world I know today – to becoming the man I am today. You’re dedication and passion has always been an inspiration to me – I hope you know that and I feel the same about animals as you … who knows, there may be an alignment there in the future :). I respect you and thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you nothing but the best in wealth, prosperity, health and changing our planet like you’ve already begun.

  36. I’m looking forward to seeing you grow your business, it’s a step I’d like to take one day. I hope to take some tips from your journey.

    Congrats on taking the risk.

  37. Congratulations Greg and I must say I’m not surprised. I first met you almost 7 years ago and you’ve always been a pioneer who clearly followed his heart. And as someone about to launch a bold new venture of my own, an inspiration.

As a lifelong animal lover having rescued everything from fish to horses, I’m excited about the new phase of your business – and your life – for in a world with balance there is no separation. It truly is a great time to be alive!

  38. Greg – I’ve enjoyed your teachings. I know you’re path will be a powerful one when you focus on it bro.

  39. Greg, congrats on your new venture. My niche is about maximizing meaning in life and your move is exemplary in that you have established priorities in your life and are acting on them. I will be using you as an example to inspire others to always be looking to maximize what is meaningful because life is too short to just be making a living. The best to you on this new chapter of life!

  40. Congratulations Greg! For a long time I’ve had a vision of helping pet animals in the Caribbean by flying Canadian veterinarians down to one or more of the islands to provide spay/neuter services for animals (and other services too). I don’t think most people in those countries have the same regard and respect for animals as Canadians do – and it shows. I’ve been to a couple of countries in the Caribbean and been apalled by the numbers of homeless dogs and cats running wild in the streets and on the beaches with no official humane society able to handle the volume. I’d love to know more about what you’re doing to see if there is anything I can do to help.

    1. Our new company has committed to an annual “give back” trip where we take our entire team down and volunteer for a week – doing hundreds of spays/neuters, education, and working to help improve the situation for animals in places where animal rights and protection are not what they are at home. This year we’re going to the Dominican Republic and doing a major initiative which we’re excited about.

  41. Greg, I will always have positive thoughts regarding you and your “brother” Kourosh. You guys have taught me a lot and gave me my first opportunity to speak on a big stage. Thanks for everything. Love and support to both of you in your new endeavors. Look forward to following along.

  42. Greg, I honor you for following your heart and your passion. You have given a lot of great content over the past 7 years and so many people have benefited. You know and trust your heart and that’s the best advice you can give anyone! With your knowledge and your passion your new endeavor will be a smashing success! Congratulations!

  43. Was great to see you in Chicago Greg – got to see your last public performance 😉

Thanks for bringing us all up to speed… I will be watching!

    1. Thanks Clinton. It won’t be the last public performance as I still intend to do some speaking (I’m speaking at a TEDx event and at AwesomenessFest this year) but certainly will be having a lot of fun doing it.

  44. I know that ,because of the man you are , your decision will be supported by nature and bring much love and joy to you ,your family, and the world. Here’s to a well deserved life of ever expanding bliss for you and yours. Much love, Veronica Butler

  45. all the best for the future … your commitment to animals is inspiring … thank you for the great advice that you’ve shared over the years via your blog

  46. I find you so inspiring Greg.
I have just started on my path to build what you have built. I am like you in that I LOVE doing business. I am a natural deal maker and investor and just cant help myself 🙂 Most of the people out there doing what you and the rest on the circuit do so well seem to be men so I have decided – being a woman who has emerged out of the world of trading floors, fund launches and asset management sales that it is time for me to step up and lead the coming wave of female entrepreneurs into super energised wealth – that is wealth that is used to change this amazing world we live in. For any of us that have the ability to make money we have a called to do just that and use it to push humanity forward.
Thank you for the inspiration …… I would truly love to interview you one day if you would do me the honours. Once I launch my interview series – I’ll come and ask 🙂
Best of luck with your new venture & I look forward to seeing it unfold.
    With Gratitude.
    Barbara

  47. Greg, you continue to deliver, whether it’s training, coaching, or demonstrating that following what one loves brings one closer to one’s true self.
Congratulations on your new path. And if it involves a business where your partner is W., then I am doubly happy. A marvelous business and you are a real asset to it. Not to mention all the great things you continue to do for the lovely dogs of DR.

Look forward to your posts and meeting up with you again whenever the Universe thinks it’s time 🙂
    All the best…ann

    1. Hello globetrotter – yes, that’s what we’re doing and couldn’t be more excited. We’re taking the company down to the DR in the fall for a major initiative that will spay/neuter hundreds of dogs and cats. And we’ll fit a bit of fun into the trip as well.

  48. Letting go of who you are….to become who you are meant to be….is one of the greatest experiences humans are blessed to choose. You earned the right to let passion lead and I’m excited to see where it will take you. I am really excited to hear how this story evolves. Best of luck. In sincere gratitude for your master teachings, Namaste, Michelle

  49. Greg all the very best for your business, passion and life. You continue to inspire so many people- enjoy your journey. The best is yet to come

  50. Greg… You go guy!!! I am excited to keep track of your growing business that is presenting itself to the world. The fact that it involves animals makes me sooooooooooooo interested, I can hardly wait to find out what you are creating. Much appreciation for what you have done and much appreciation for what you are going to create! The best to you!!!!

  51. Well done for choosing your passion – and thank you for the part that you have played in my re-invention….. Look forward to seeing more – Margie

  52. In the past year that I’ve been following you, I just haven’t been able to figure out where you have made so much money from and on. Haven’t seen much content other than the same affiliate marketing that everyone else does with the typical internet “Syndicate” buddies each cross-promoting everyone else’s launches (barf), and that weak overpriced “Defend Your Wealth” wealth program last year (ugh). I really liked that “Money Attraction Bootcamp” though (yeah). But seriously though, how did you make so many millions of dollars and get so connected to big-shots? I’m just totally intrigued and confused just where your success came in at.

    1. Are you for real? All I can say is that at some point, you need to step back and look at your own attitude and how that is serving you. The number of negative comments and cuts in your post is amazing. Clicking on your profile name here shows all the comments you’ve made on other sites including mine, and most are negative, cutting or sarcastic. How did I get connected to big shots? I didn’t criticize them and condemn what they do. I showed people respect and added value. 2 things you have failed to do with your comment.

      1. Yeah, I’m for real. I was just sincerely asking. You took it as an attack. Oh well, not my problem.

That being said, I can banter with you publically here, or privately through email, your choice. I’m ready either way. I give respect where it’s due and add plenty of “value.” Don’t get mad at the mirror just because you don’t like the reflection.

  53. Greg
My good friend Pearl sent me your link a few years ago and I have reaped many benefits from your teaching. As a parting gift, would you consider sending around one more time “If Money Could Talk”? I had a blast sharing that with people I love.

  54. Dear Greg, reading your letter this morning has just inspired me more than anything I have ever gotten from you. I have a successful business and for about two years I have been considering changing complete direction and to follow my passion. You shouldn’t keep doing something just because you good at it – right? I live in Turkey and the devastating circumstances here with animal cruelty and welfare is just appalling! So I came up with a brilliant and unique business venture which is hugely profitable so that I can build an animal sanctuary and an animal hospital. It is a huge project and I would need to find investors and face many challenges. But you have inspired me – to follow my passion and to find a way to get my venture off the ground so that I can help the animals in Turkey. Thank you for that. Wish I could have a mentor for my project, both with the business venture and with the animal aid project…this is so scary!!!!

  55. I am so pleased for you Greg and wish you all the very best with your new life and new project.
Thank you for your Trusted Authority program, it has changed my life and it was a pleasure to meet you at the first Messenger Summit, when the stirrings of change where first starting for you.
    Love, Peace & Light
    Sara

    1. Wow, thanks for the kind words Sara. This is the hardest part of focusing away from coaching and training – knowing that I have helped people and had impact, and love hearing about the results from those who took action. But I plan to keep helping, just through a different lens.

  56. Greg, I’ve always appreciated your way of making many of your concepts very simple to understand, but also making me realize that I have a lifetime to continually master new challenges. I look forward toward seeing you tackle a new challenge of your own.

    : )

  57. Congratulations on your decision, and on moving forward in following your own passion in your new local business venture! I think you’re going to feel so happy you made the shift. I did something similar in my life last year, deciding to shift focus from one business that I had started over 20 years before, that had made its way into online training programs (which will continue to be there), into following with focus the path of my newer career as a voice-over and narration professional. I have to say I am so much happier now that I’m doing what I am more passionate about, and I’m really seeing my new business grow, which is exciting! It’s great that you’ll still be teaching and staying in touch, and that you have the programs you do have available to share and help people. I look forward to reading about your new adventures. Go forward and enjoy the next phase of your journey! Thank you for all that you have done to inspire me, and so many others!

  58. Wishing all of life’s best in your new venture! I am sure you will be a success. I look forward to watching your evolution!

  59. Wow – I hadn’t anticipated all the kind words and thoughts that would flow from my post. Thank you all for your comments! Sometimes it’s easy to forget or be unaware of the impact you make on people, and this has really reminded me of why our training and coaching programs were so rewarding. It means a lot, and I plan to continue to add value here on the site as we journey into new challenges and opportunities!

    1. You mean content marketing isn’t working as well? No, I wouldn’t say that at all – I’m focused alot on content marketing in our new (offline) business. But a downturn in teaching people how to do content marketing – maybe. 🙂

  60. Enough coaches who coach, “how to coach.” That’s old and you’ve always been new, cutting edge. Congrats on your new venture. Stay in touch.

  61. Hi Greg. Many thanks for under-promising and over-delivering on your excellent program, The Authority Formula. Including the 7 Minute Site and Rapid Product Blueprint . . . Brilliant! . . . I wish you every success in your new venture.

I love animals too, both pets and wildlife. (I joined the RSPCA age 9). Now involved with nature conservation and living in a forest in NSW, Australia, Developing a wetlands/wildlife/wildflower garden on our 10 hectares. (image attached) Re animals, you may be interested in a book by your fellow Canadian, Garth Stein, ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’, narrated by a dog.

I look forward to joining you on your journey, and hope you may join me in mine. Regards, Gordon (Rowland)

  62. Hi Greg, Congratulations and Good Luck living your passion. You are an inspiration and your communications have always been full of care, professionalism and integrity. I was particularly moved by your contribution in Africa. You deserve the best.

  63. Thanks for your teachings and insights Greg. I wish you
all the very best & happiness to you in your new venture. It will be fantastic !

  64. Thank you Greg for sharing with us, all this while, with such generosity of spirit. I am sure that your new venture will be a roaring success, and we will continue to learn from your successes. God Bless You and Yours!

  65. Yup, it’s a big step and good luck in this endeavor. I look forward to your sharing as I know I can pick up a lot as I did previously. Thank you and blessings be in this new adventure!

  66. Congrats Greg, I know many have “retired” from the information marketing side and found more power and purpose in other ways to do business. Good for you! Enjoy your new found “power zone”. Melanie

  67. Hi Greg! Thanks for all the content, your energy and contribution! Wish you all the luck in your new business venture! We should all pursue our dreams and passions! Cheers

  68. Hi Greg. I just wanted to comment quickly and ask a question about a YT video from 4 years ago where you’re teaching about iTunes Producer and how to sell ibooks. You had mentioned in the video that your books were receiving over 1000 downloads per day. PLEASE, just tell me what you did to give it that type of exposure.

Thanks – and congratulations on “movin’ on up”.

  69. I love this letter of resignation Greg. I also love your new business. And that you’ll still keep writing here because I get a lot out of what you think and say. Thanks for staying true to you and to the real meaning of wealth.

  70. Dear Greg, thanks a bunch for all the advice, coaching, and mentoring you have shared with us all over the years. I was lucky enough to have been introduced to your teaching via your fabulous “TAF” program; and through that to a whole new world of trusted authorities through your amazing content. I was actually searching the web to see if you were working on any new programs when I stumbled on this post! I am stunned to hear about your decision (for my own selfish reasons) but know that everything happens for a reason and I wish you all the very best for the future. Thank you again for sharing your passion and wisdom. Because of your gift there are ripples as far away as Uganda E.A where I am currently consulting and sharing alot of your teachings.

  71. wow

    I just read that

good luck in your venture(s) wherever they take you !

a true serial entrepreneur will usually succeed if he focuses his mind, money and ample resources on it

    May god bless you richly
