Trusted Authority Interview: T. Harv Eker

By now, you’ve probably heard of T. Harv Eker, as he has built one of the world’s largest personal developing and training companies in the world, Peak Potentials.  He also wrote the huge best-selling book, “Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind“. I’ve had the chance to present and more than 10 events held by Peak Potentials, and Harv Eker had a major influence on my path into the training and speaking worlds.  Peak now has more than 20 industry-leading training programs that they offer around the world. If you’ve never experienced a Peak Potentials event before, I highly recommend that you attend their foundational program, Millionaire Mind Intensive.  It has been responsible for changing hundreds of thousands of lives, and continues to be one of the most successful and transformational models in the world. Recently, I came across an incredible interview that I did with Harv that hasn’t been shared in public.  In this exclusive interview, I ask Harv a lot of the questions that most people are afraid to ask him. Harv is one of the most creative and brilliant marketing minds in the world, and this is YOUR chance to hear some of his greatest thoughts and ideas when it comes to building a successful business in today’s world. What would Harv do if he lost everything, and only had $5,000 to start again (and couldn’t call ANY of the people he knows for help?) What is the SINGLE most important skill when it comes to being a successful entrepreneur? I asked a lot of great questions, and this is one of the best interviews I’ve ever done. Enjoy the interview!

  1. Mind changing programme? There are so many programmes out there with respect to mind changing, including NLP. I don’t think you can make a statement that you have the best programme in the world! I would suggest to check out the Hoffman process for a start! I would caution anyone saying that they have the best mind changing programme in the world, that is like saying I am more spiritual than someone else.

    1. Hi Toby — no one claimed that this is the best in the world, only that it’s one of the top programs simply based on the growth and success of the program. Not sure what your message is really about, but interesting nonetheless. When did I claim that I have the best program in the world?

      1. Hi Greg,I have taken some of your programs and have never heard you say they are the best in the world but I can say first hand that you could! I have taken many programs from several different authorities and yours truly are fantastic…truly appreciate all that you do.

  2. Dear Greg,
Last weekend I attented the first ever MMI by Harv in the Netherlands. What a weekend. I have been doing lots of training the past 15 years, never anything on money. But this was only partly about money. I am still in the energy of that weekend and that is the amazing part, normally it wears off after a couple of days. I can say that I agree with you, Harv is one the best. The MMI was not only very profound, it was very spiritual. There are a lot of sceptical people out there, let them be. You cannot convince all the people all the time. Just to let you know that Harv also mentioned you during the MMI.
    Keep up the good work.
    Thanks for your inspiring work.
    Greetings,
    Berny

Good reminders on negociation and the 2 points on marketing: what are you selling and what’s the advantage of buing it.
Pain how is it used in marketing find the problem of the person is a very good point Harv talks about.
Superbe talking about the negatif and positif thinking and the food habits Harv talks about. Thoughts are feelings! Intention waooo powerfull!
Fantastic listening to both of you Greg and Harv….

    Thanks for the tips. 😉

  5. The Engaged entrepreneur is one of the best business and self improvement blogs on the web. Very enjoyable articles and even better interviews. This one with Harv Eker is worth listening right to the end.

  6. FANTASTIC interview!! Read transcript end to end twice, just what I needed right now. I have enjoyed what you have been sharing the past 6 weeks, thank you & keep them coming.

  7. Aside from all the wisdom and inspiration in it, it’s great to listen to this. And it seems you both had fun.
    Thank you!

  8. Fantastic interview. I love the menu analogy and I have thought about it before and wonder why some people take so long to decide what to eat, nothing is even at stake other than you might not like it and you can even change it! So it is a reflection of how we make decision, got it.

Thank you Greg for bring this.

  10. Excellent, priceless wisdom guys. This interview is worth a fortune! Thankyou!
I love and emulate your message Greg. A Dream Warrior is definitely a trusted authority…:)

What an amazing time we live in to be able to share our skills and unique gifts in this way. I feel so privileged to have known this since I was 18 (I’m now 52). I haven’t proved it financially yet but I’m doing what 99% won’t to turn that around. And for me, it’s ‘whatever it takes’.

    In gratitude

  11. Thanks Greg , Good stuff – many hints on how to become successful, money-wise- And to follow you passion in life. And to take full responsibility for the way your life is going. There are also many ways of helping people even without charging for it. It might make you happy, But that wont make you rich. I guess once you got the money -you´ll discover that true happiness lies in helping other people.

  12. Very Raw interview. Harv Eker is a very passionate person who is not afraid to speak his mind. It was a long interview but powerful with many nuggets of information that I can take and digest for my business. One of the things that stood out to me is that he doesn’t use the word “GOALS” he instead likes to say “Intentions” because it comes from the heart.

  13. Hi Greg,
Once again many thanks for this valuable(and lengthy) snipit of vital information through the insights of Harv. The principles you both dicuss are indeed vital and necessary approaches needed in helping to set the correct path to riches, namely change to the POSITIVE mindset. As Harv says, if you want to learn the piano you must PRACTISE and that means reading and constantly re reading until it becomes a natural thought process. By sending us all these ,”Musical notes of wisdom”, you are helping us all alter positively our mindsets and helping our ,”Auto suggestions”, process, with new pieces of affirmation insights.

Many thanks and I too look forward to helping many less fortunate folk and developing a richer life .

    Best regards,

    robert

  14. I was really moved by this interview on a deep level. As an engineer I worked hard all my life in order to earn my keep hoping that someday one of my products would become a hit and make me financially free so that I could be fully available to help others. The fact that my own personal and spiritual growth is the biggest gift I can give to mankind still leaves a missing element in my equation. While I should be retired long ago I still work hard to make ends meet trusting that somehow I will be granted for a few years to live my passion. Maybe through a website for my latest product I can find an open door through marketing. And who knows I might even have to change all my plans and start all over again – I am all receptive. Thank you Greg for the great message. Something has clicked somewhere and it is not just reason or good common sense.

  15. Thank you for great and fresh interview!
So would like to attend The Millionaire Mind Intensive by T.Harv Eker, but it is in same time as Authority Formula Live Event. It is so shame! (we plan to go to TAF Live Even from Europe and it is a bit far and expensive to travel often)

  16. Waaaoooo amazing. What an interview!!! The knowlegdge, information, experiences shared, 10000% PRICELESS.

  17. Whether it’s about business, finance, health, realtionships (which were all discussed)- the underlying topic was about taking the accountability in your life with integrity, serving other people, as well as OBSERVING and CHOOSING to make the results that create your own reality. There is utter beauty, joy, opportunities for creativtiy and feeling of abundance and expansion in that simplicity alone! How can we not become successful!?!

I went to the MMI in Amsterdam wanting to focus on my success and finances but ended up learning (and unlearning) what was creating my own reality, what were my results. Just like Harv said, How you do anything is how you do everything. Make the decision, make the choice.

Thank you Greg and thank you Harv for opening up to us and showing how you choose to self-actualise. I consider you both amazing role models and amazing mentors. My appreciation doesn’t only come from the intuitive info, but also being in the presence of high energy… Thank you, thank you! Awesome! The sections on habits and intent were life-changing. I hope I can serve you one day as well! 🙂

  18. this was powerful stuff. for anybody at any level of evolution, there are enough nuggets to pick up from this interview.

  19. What would Harv do if he lost everything, and only had $5,000 to start again (and couldn’t call ANY of the people he knows for help?)

    LOL…this is funny…wow he only had $5,000….how tough 🙂

  20. Hello Gregg,Thank you both for this amazing interview! Very down to earth, very learnfull and very inspiring. I do understand what you are saying, now I have to practize it.
    THanks agian.
    Best regards.

  21. I WOULD LOVE FOR U TO ANSWER ONE Q .ITS A CHALLANGE MORE THAN A Q.I HAVE GREAT IDEA BUT IT NEED MONEY FOR IT TO MAKE LOTS OF MONEY .HOW CAN I DO IT .I DONT WANT PARTNERS ,I DONT HAVE GOOD CREDIT,AND I DONT HAVE MONEY.
    THANK YOU
    WAFA

  22. It was great to hear Harv in a different setting. I have taken some of his training some years ago. I certainly appreciated what he had to say today. It made me realize what kind of a person he truly is instead of just focusing of what I got or didn’t get when I attended his class. He has very practical suggestions… and they are all proven ones that have been successful for him. I am also in a very different space today, with definite goals, and an intense desire to achieve them. His words, like yours as well, are already helping me break through barriers – mind concepts

  23. WOW-at 73 minutes into this I had tears in my eys….(When Greg asked Harv what is biggest Fear Was!) Harv made a promise with God to help people for the rest of his life…
    Awesome interview
    Thanks Greg

  24. Great interview in the form of a relaxed chat with great content. Can’t understand some of the negative comments. To me these are the type of people that need help the most – looking for faults while ignoring any positives. I am always happy even if I learnt only one thing that helps me in any way. My evaluation of the interview is, to what I already knew it was motivational and to what I didn’t, I am better off for the knowledge and best of all, entertaining.
    Thanks Greg.
    Terry

  25. THANK YOU so much for providing the transcript! I can access the content so much quicker that way, and with more flexibility and permanence. Besides that, Shockwave Flash crashes regularly on my machine so I can’t see/hear the videos at all.

More transcripts, please. And thanks again for all the free content. Being unemployed with no financial resources behind bare survival at the moment, studying, preparing, planning, considering my target market, my personal USPs, etc…your material is inspirational, but more than that, it is executable. Practical.

  26. I really, really, really, REALLY appreciate: 1. Greg for putting this incredibly valuable info available to US, 2. Harv for keeping your promise and, even though you’re multi-millionaire and could retire whenever you want, your message reached ME today and NOW I’m able to fix some things in my music business, that would cause at least a little help in the world… starting with myself!!

Thank you both, deeply hearted thanks.

  27. Well, Greg, Harv Ecker surprised me tonight- listening to him while making daikon soup for tomorrow. I knew that he had the gift of public speaking. I dismissed him, and thought he was a talented blabber.

But to hear about his “big fear” gave me a lump in my throat. Here is a man whose fear story is LIKE MINE. How my mother dedicated my life ( as an recording artist) to God, when she was about to lose me facing a miscarriage. What a tremendous feeling to meet and hear another person in the same situation. But I want to be wealthy and do what I do best, saturate the world market with the sound of my violin.

However, he failed to tell us how he would get 10 people in a room in his house with his hot little topic seminar. I hate it when coaches leave out the “how” part. All the motivational speeches, I find, moves& vibrates the heart chakra. But that only goes so far. I want the how’s. Did he pick up the phone and call 10 people? who? went around and posted flyers? where? emailed? to whom? I bet he will spill only when we buy his products. I want to hear his answer– what’s the best way to get in touch with him?

But, to hear him verbalize his thoughts about your integrity- That was important- especially when we are paying with our credit cards on line.

Lastly, your question about the last $5K- what would he do to raise himself up- was a smart one. I applaud you with that one.

  28. This was a very interesting interview for me, thank you very much. It gave so much insight into how successful people think and act and what is driving them. It left me somewhat confused and I wonder if I understood something wrong? I got that “without pain, problem or suffering there is no business” or “the more pain and problems, the more chance for business” (as long as I have a solution). But, on a wholistic level, where we are all in it together: doesn’t this actually say that business affords problems and pain and the more problems, the better? I mean, if I am passionate about helping people, I am in need of people who need help or I am unhappy. So somehow, on the other side, there need to be circumstances that render people helpless, make them confused or cause pain so I can find customers? Am I illogical here?

I understood that Mr. Eker is passionate because he believes that “if you are not passionate about life, it will be taken away from you”. If that was true, why then are there so many people living a completely “mediocre”, “unpassionate” life and they are still alive? Where would such a belief come from? And, if our beliefs create reality, are we going to face in the future a situation where people who are not “passionately racing around the planet” will be “taken away” from here? Why does he believe that???
He said he made a deal with God that he would help other people for the rest of his life if God helped him? It makes me feel that he is not really passionate about helping people, but that he is driven to passionately help people out of fear to loose his possessions and his life, just the very cliché about rich people that I always thought was a cliché but obviously it is not? Is this also part of the millionaires mindset? I don’t think bad about him, as he expects people to do, but I am kind of shocked. It helped me understand why I always hesitated to join his program. He is not coming from love, but from fear. That’s very sad and it makes me doubt the whole industry.

  29. I AM a retired multi millionaire, This was fun and made me want to go bsck to work, THX. I AM that I AM. God Bless D

  30. Thank you for this excellent interview, I learned so much. Such great content and so generously and passionately given….it will remain with me for a long time. Helping others is one of my values. Also, I felt a great deal of love exchanged between you and Harv…God bless.

  31. Greg, thank you doing this interview with Harv. I have been following Harv for many years, attended MMI and Wizard and planning to attend many more.

  34. Stop doing the means to an end living….
I don’t need to know all the answers, I need to know how to get them….

  35. This really was a very very helpful interview, it gave insight into not only Harv, but you as well Greg, and it was a much more personal call that I felt a lot more connected to then many interviews that I have listened to.
