Breakfast With A Living Legend

Engage Today 2011 in Denver, I’ve also been to San Diego twice (which is becoming like a second home for me). It’s been almost non-stop masterminding and learning from some of the people I trust and admire most in the world – friends and mentors like John Assaraf, Rick Sapio, Mike Koenigs, Eben Pagan, Max Simon, Amish Shah and many more brilliant minds. But Saturday morning, as I was preparing to fly home to family, I got a very unexpected but pleasant surprise – having breakfast with one of my heroes, and a true living legend.

Bob ProctorI’ll assume that you’ve seen the movie phenomenon The Secret, and if you have, then you likely know who Bob Proctor is. He’s truly one of the living legends in the success and empowerment industry. He worked with and studied directly from Earl Nightingale, and has been one of the most respected and admired authorities in the speaking and training world for decades. Bob wrote a best-selling book called “You Were Born To Be Rich“, and he continues to speak and train around the world, drawing crowds of up to 20,000 fans and followers. (you can see Bob’s newest project here, which is a very cool free video training series.) Well, little did I know that a meeting we had scheduled with one of our marketing partners, Lanny Morton, would end up putting me face to face with Bob over breakfast. I’ve followed Bob’s work for years, but having the opportunity to meet him in person was an amazing opportunity, and we ended up talking for over 2 hours. You know, I meet a LOT of people in the whole training and speaking business, but there are few that I really resonate with and that I connect with on several levels. Bob was as genuine and engaging in person as I’ve always found him in his videos and training programs. I wanted to share a couple of the most powerful thoughts he shared with me, and give you some brand new videos that he’s released this week.

“Success never comes in a straight line.”

One of the key things we talked at length about is how messy the path to success can actually be. The example Bob gave was that in the middle of surgery, an operating room looks like the scene of a murder. Before someone is ever considered a genius, they’re often called a fool or insane. His observation for more than 40 years is that most people wrongly believe that success is a straight line, and that belief is what keeps most people from actually achieving it. Just like a rocket going to the moon is off course about 95% of the time – but it gets there only because of constant, tiny re-adjustments along the way – success in life is mostly about DOING something, and then adjusting along the way. Most people give up when they’re only inches away from breaking through – much like the analogy in Think and Grow Rich, when Hill talks about being “3 feet from gold”. What was truly incredible was that even though Bob is in his mid-70’s, he had the enthusiasm and fire of someone half his age! He continues to speak and train around the world, and he’s got an incredible message to share. In fact, he was flying out that weekend to speak to over 20,000 people in Peru. He recently launched a new video training series called “6 Minutes To Success“, which I highly recommend. If you’ve EVER bought a program or training system and failed to implement or get results, Bob explains WHY in this video. We’ve all done this — I’ve got books and programs on my shelf that I’ve never read or reviewed. And I bet you do too. The question is, WHY? Well, Bob talks about this, and explains a very simple strategy to finally STOP doing this for good. He ALSO explains the fatal flaw of The Secret, and what missing ingredient allows you to take the concept of the Law of Attraction, and actually make it WORK for you big-time. I’m excited because I’m going to be doing some more work with Bob in the future that you’ll hear about. One of those things is doing an interview with him — AND I need your help! What SINGLE question would you ask Bob Proctor if you had the chance? Because I’m going to be interviewing him, and I’m going to choose the BEST questions that people post here. So tell me what specific question you would MOST want to ask Bob Proctor, and I’ll see what I can do. 🙂 And don’t forget to check out his videos here: ** click the link –> 6 Minutes To Success Training The training videos are absolutely free. Go and drop your email in for access — it’s worth it, and you can always unsubscribe if it’s not for you. And don’t forget to POST YOUR QUESTION for Bob right here!]]>

1. I would ask about the key few points that are required to successfully engage and utilize the Law of Attraction.

2. What is the number one thing that stops people from knowing, believing and achieving their dreams? How do you deal with subconscious programs and rules that underly being stuck?

1. I would suggest you work on those things that you truly believe you can have or achieve, so that you can succeed and strengthen your belief in yourself, even if you have to start really, really small.

3. My question: what are the three most misleading mindsets or ideas when it comes to success? I would suggest that 1) Control (self-control is essential, what I mean here is controlling other things), 2) Ownership (as opposed to Stewardship) and 3) Independence.

4. From your experience, what is the first thing a person with a dream/passion should do, especially given the financial and family pressures for stability and security?

5. How exciting Greg! It’s your own authenticity and passion that are drawing these equal reflections into your life. I’m happy for you and all the wonderful things that are coming into your life.

My question: at this point in his life, if he had to choose one essential lesson he has learned that he wishes he knew when he was first developing his message and business, what would that be?

6. What marks the turning point/challenge/critical event that revealed/sealed your life’s work and propelled you on your path?

Please share the keys to sustained success in this field.

Thanks so much!

7. How do you know if you are 3 feet away from gold or going down the wrong path because you keep hitting the wall and can’t get the breakthrough. Is that when you quit being attached to the outcome?

1. By listening to your gut. Use your feelings, that’s what they are for. Who should you trust more than yourself?

8. Hi Greg,

Great post. I too find Bob’s teachings to be of the highest quality. I think if I had the opportunity to ask him a question it would be how to most effectively re-program the subconscious mind.

Keep up the great posts, and connecting with great mentors.

Best of Success,

9. Greg,

If I could ask “Bob Proctor” one question. What is the one thing you can do to be in complete alignment with ones purpose? Like a daily practice.

-Jared Knowlton

P.S. Your Crazy Amazing!

10. My question: If someone wanted to create financial wealth and stability from nothing, which of the many vehicles you have seen would you recommend?

Thanks for your excellence, Greg.

P.S. Greg, you could weigh-in on this question as well.

11. Very exciting information. My question is:
I find that everyone is a “teacher or mentor” in business now but many have never successfully ran the business they are teaching. How does one know who to follow as a mentor.

12. In the path to becoming a great speaker (and trainer), what were the key mental shifts and realizations and how did you get your first speaking gig? Also, what is his most powerful daily personal growth activity?

13. How would you suggest someone to change a difficult challenge into an opportunity to grow?
Marc Lerner
President, Life Skills Institute
MS patient of 30 years

14. My question would be: As long as you know yourself, did you always have a “success mindset” or did you develop it, and how?

Well that’s two questions (barely) disguised as one, but let’s see 🙂

15. Most people would ask questions about success… But frankly, we learn from our mistakes… so, my question is:

What was the single biggest mistake you made in building the life/career/business you have, and what did you learn from that? Are there any pitfalls that you could have avoided?

Thanks!

16. I think what was said here is appropriate to most situation,
but I’ll like to ask the question,WHAT IS TRUE HAPPINESS,AND,WHERE DO ONE REALLY FIND IT. Can you please explain this.
Bhowan Maraj

17. Hi Greg, my question for Bob would be, with all of his expirence would he agree that the majority of people around the world even with the knowledge will ever achieve what they really desire and if the answer be yes. What then would he advise as a first move to break that spell thatmost people seem to be under. Cheers Duncan

18. Greg,

So beautiful to feel your ever-spiraling inspiration! Really look forward to hearing the golden nuggets from the rendezvous of your and Bob’s hearts. I am sure it will be SPECIAL!

I have 2 Questions for Bob:

1) Given the trajectory of humanity (imagining the future synthesis of the global struggles and our Spiritual evolution), if you, Bob Proctor, were to have been born in 2130s rather than the 1930s, what do you think your life would be like and what would your life purpose be, i.e., 2 centuries later?

2) As a young boy under the age of 7, what were the 3 most powerful experiences of your “little” life that set the stage for who you are today?

Again, Greg, thank YOU for EVERYthing you give to us, your tribe.

With GrateFULLness for You and Kourosh,
Syndee Eartheart

19. Getting older, Bob, and going strong, you are. How does it feel to be full of knowledge and wisdom and with your health at this late stage of your life ?

20. I tried this 4 times. Then watched the video. Question is: I’m 65, was moderately successful corporate guy, got whacked last year. Did I wait too long to step out and step up?

My health and fitness are superb. I have the greatest family in the world. The friends I’ve made around the world are incredibly supportive. Read “Think and Grow Rich” 50 years ago and have been a student of Earl Nightingale and his merry band for 30 years.

21. Question:

What is the most effective method for determining how a person is meant to be of service to humanity while at the same time earning a good income from this?

22. My question is: Mr. Proctor, first thank you for helping everyone to understand ALL the laws of attraction: What is THE single most thing a person can do to begin to attract the manifestation of their passion and purpose to help others and also create an income? Thank you

23. Hi Gregg,

Sorry we missed each other during your recent trip to San Diego. I couldn’t make it to the Fusion 2.0 training with Mike and his team. I’m planning on being there next year with a success story to share. Talk to you soon.

🙂

John

24. I read most of the questions already posted. What great and thoughtful questions! I would like to know the answers to all those questions too! My question to Bob would be: What part do spiritual beliefs play in one’s success?

25. I would like to know if someone offered you a quilt/ fabric art / wall hanging/ privacy curtain .. would you keep it for awhile, and then give it to a catastrophe survivor who would need it,??????? (and be inspired and encouraged that someone cared enough to give them something they needed which is beautiful and full of love .)… AND maybe then you would .. find a friend who would like to have a different one, but who would donate something to the the quilter / fabric artist so she could keep being inspired to make them ? ( without losing money on it …) Sort of a buy one ( have friend buy one) … get one free, but not… lol…. I say lol but I am asking a serious question. By the way I am the quilter/fabric artist …

26. What an incredible gift Greg and to share it with us also…Thank you! Ok, my question is: As you were beginning to share your messages with others, did you (or do you even now) ever find yourself doubtful or afraid of anything (i.e. business, the “how-to’s”, people’s opinions, etc.)?

27. If you have many things that feel like they could be a niche for your business, what is the secret to finding or creating just one?

28. Hey Greg,

It’s ironic that you should ask that question today as I’m just visualizing having Jann Klose (my artist) open up for Paul McCartney, who is performing at Yankee Stadium, which is here in my artist’s hometown, the Bronx.

I always felt that Paul’s late wife, Linda was a genius, iconic, and one of the most brilliant minds in rock & roll. She had so much fun singing and playing piano in all the Wings concerts. Even so, she received significant criticism.

So tonight, I was visualizing myself telling Paul how much I loved his wife, and the one question I’d ask him is how Linda did it, “How did she not let the criticism wear her down.” Ask Mr. Proctor that question!

29. Re: What SINGLE question would you ask Bob Proctor if you had the chance?

Here’s my question for Bob…
How do you get the feeling of wanting to get stuff done?

30. Thanks for the opportunity, Greg and Bob.

Reading all the questions currently posted, there appears to be an underlying theme of ‘how do I make a difference in the world while still supporting myself and family financially?’.

My question: It is said that we should let go of the illusion that everything in the Universe is not exactly as it should be. If accurate, why should we strive to make a difference? My burning passion is to introduce a business model built on authenticity to the corporate world, but why bother when everything as it is is perfect?

31. One of the recommendation I hear very often is: if you want wealth live like the wealthy live, think like the wealthy think, act as if you are wealthy. The problem with that is that we live in different worlds, I don’t know how the wealthy thinks. How do they act and I don’t know if I want to live like them because I don’t know. I am 81 years old, I went to school to get a certification of LOA life coach, I wrote a book, it was published, I am studying to be a health coach, I created two websites, I write a lot of articles I have practiced meditation for 26 years in a monastic setting, was a gestalt therapist. No one can say I’m not taking action. Why don’t I succeed? I don’t know why. I just keep going because I don’t want to be dependent on my children and I have a drive to keep going. Thank you for your answer. Clea

32. What would you call your greatest business success — not including coaching or teaching success — to date?

I would ask this because I wonder how many of these so-called legends actually had successful business careers beyond or before becoming success experts, so I can determine if they are teaching success from theory, or from actual experience.

33. Thanks Greg for the chance to ask Mr. Proctor a question. I would like to know which is the best way to “shift” your mindset from expert’s thinking to become a successful life coach or start a online information business.
Best regards,
Pravda

34. Bob,

I’m a licensed health insurance broker in California. My goal is to change the way Amereicans view healthcare from abdocating resposibility to a government run healthcare system to taking responsibility to operate in freedom and exercise their individual right to the pursuit of happiness in being healthy. How can I present a compelling, motivating call to action that will turn the tide of healthcare attitudes and inspire Americans in choosing to be healthy rather than being taken care of by government control of a healthcare system under IRS complience?

Thanks.

Spread joy,

Marlowe

35. We all know the story of Edison and how he persevered through 1000 attempts before getting the light bulb to work but how do you know when you might just be polishing a turd and in fact its time to walk away and invest your time and energy elsewhere?

36. If over 70% of the population of a given community live below poverty line, what advice can be given to the young one as to how to become Entrepreneurs?

37. How to determine your purpose if you are not driven enough to act on goals based on shallow definitions of success, like personal power, wealth, appearance and sex?

38. How do you keep focused and not let external forces pull you away from your goals, for example, friends, loved ones, and your ego.

39. Would Bob agree that a dream is only a dream when it remains just a dream, such as day dreaming but! When we turn a dream into a goal, that requires action! then commit this with a burning commitment, desire and passion and take one achievable step at a time, then any dream is reachable as long as we do not give up

40. I have a small business that I am trying to build, and I notice that I get in my own way constantly. I know several things I could be doing to improve my business, but I can’t seem to make myself do them. I have noticed the same reluctance in my spiritual life. What can someone like me do to eliminate these blockages and end the procrastination?

41. Is Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Savior? How do you use the power of God that is available to all of us in your life?

42. 2012 is racing toward us.I believe that exceptional minds like that of Mahendra Trividi are going to change the direction of our thinking. What will this tilt in world consciousness do to internet marketing? Will you change the way you communicate? Should we?

43. Ask Bob, out of all of the information out there what is the one program that really works, without spending a lot of extra money on extra stuff you will need to get your website up and running efficiently?

44. Hi Greg – What an experience! I am happy for you.

Here’s my question (and I’d love to hear your answer to this one sometime too):

Do you have a favorite question or set of questions that you like to ask people you are working with or helping out? A question that might be simple but that you find really hits people as they come up with their answers?

Thanks!

45. What is the best way to attract new clients? I work in the Healing / Intuitive Counseling field and am looking for new ways to attract clients.

Thank you =)

46. What is more important to increasing profitability working “on” the business or working “in” the business?

Which one requires more focus and attention, and why?…

What have you done, in retrospect?

47. what is your “why”; accomplishing so much and in the lime light at all times…how do you resonate such a consistent state of motivation and positive energy without feeling thankless to the noise and individuals who just dont get it(however still say it!) and most likely will never get it!

48. I’m not a person that gives-up! I’ve been attempting to start a “Different” way of servicing youth for over 20 years now! When I first started out, I was so naive that I actually thought all I needed was a great idea that would help youth and everything else would take care of itself.

Do to politics and negative forces and those that have influence but have other agendas or wanting to take my idea. After 20 years I”ve seen it all. I know, time is a valuable asset through my experiences and, of course, having faith has kept me going. For someone that needs to find that needle in a hay stack, I know it will take a chain reaction to get to that needle.

What role does devine intervention play when you’re looking for that needle? We have all said “they were at the right place at the right time, or He was very lucky to have that opportunity. Intangibles have to be considered due to the ways things fall into place, sometime like it’s magical.

49. ‘Ask and it shall be given you’
Do you believe Bob that that is all that is required of us, or is something else needed?

50. Thanks Greg for a wonderful video. Before, i thought dreams is the mother of all invention, but after watching Bob Proctor My mind goes beyond the unreachable.

Thats why i would like you to ask him “how can he teach as to to do something that we dont know how it works by just believing it works. Is it like saying to do something we dont know?

51. Bob, I am listening to Rhonda Byrne’s book “The Power” in which she talks a great deal about feelings and love. What is your take on this approach?
Chris

52. When the voice from your head and the voice from your heart do not meet …… both have valid points!!! Which one do you listen to – which one should you follow????
Any light shed here would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!
Thank you

53. What process does he suggest for analyzing whether to focus on a core product or service (ie specialize) or to develop a secondary product or service (ie diversify)?

For example, I can grow my core product (80% of sales), in which a small growth rate will produce larger dollar results, whereas a high growth rate in a secondary product (10% of sales) will result in smaller dollar results, but might produce new opportunities.

This ia a bit long-winded … maybe you can boil it down a bit.

Thanks,
Gord

54. Thanks for this opportunity Greg, I love the interviews I’ve listened to so far. My question for Mr. Proctor is this; how do you learn to show people, even strangers what’s in your heart, and what’s the fastest way to do it?

55. Here is what I would like to know from Bob: How does one reconcile their burning desire to be successful and reach their goals with their equally burning desire to help those who are suffering and in need, when both require a large amount of energy, focus, dedication and investment?

Thank you.
