LOVES marketing and selling. When he’s turned on by a product and believes in it, there is no one on this earth I know that is a more powerful and convincing salesman for something. This event has really shown him a new perspective, and created about 153 new business opportunities for us going into 2007. This is always one of the key struggles I face as an entrepreneur .. balancing the concept of focusing on your current business against starting new things and chasing new opportunities. I truly have attention deficit disorder when it comes to business, because I LOVE the creative process of new business ideas and projects. We arrived home in Calgary and my wife Raylene was at the airport to pick us up, with our puppy Sophie ready to greet her daddy. Seeing “my girls” reminds we WHY I love to come home so much, and how much I enjoy being with them. We gave Kourosh a ride home, and as we pulled up to his house, his 2-year old twins were pasted against the front glass, waiting for daddy, with his wife Leanne standing close behind. The door opened, and everyone in the family – Kourosh, Leanne and the two kids – were in tears at the reunion. A pretty touching moment for all. And Kourosh had only been gone 5 days! I’m probably what a lot of people think of as the “type A” personality that goes 100 miles an hour, and gets really focused on business and work. Having a business partner like Kourosh helps remind me what really IS important in life, and as a result this year I’ve really started to focus more on balance in my life with Raylene and making sure to enjoy the journey. I’m not sure he recognizes the impact he’s had on me, but don’t tell him.. wouldn’t want him to get a swollen head knowing he’s had such a profound impact on me! And believe me, if I can do it – anyone can do it. And in the end, it’s what really makes life worth living.]]>
