“Rudy”. A real life story, this movie is about Rudy Ruettiger, a 5’7″ fan of the legendary Notre Dame football team. Rudy was a boy who grew up dreaming every day of playing for the Fighting Irish. Against all odds, everyone around him told him he needed to wake up and face reality, because it was impossible for him to ever play for Notre Dame. The movie accounts what Rudy is willing to do in order to achieve his goal. At one point in the movie, Rudy is speaking directly to the head coach of Notre Dame, trying to explain to him how important it is for him to play for Notre Dame. He details how he grew up in a home with his father being one of the biggest Notre Dame fans alive, and how amazing it would be for his dad to see him play for Notre Dame. The coach then asks him, “is this just for your father?” .. to which Rudy responds: “No, coach. It’s for everyone who told me that being a Notre Dame football player would be impossible.” A little bit later, in one incredibly powerful scene, one of Rudy’s mentors turns to him with the opportunity of a lifetime, and asks him if he’s ready. Rudy’s response is, “I’ve been ready for this my entire life”. Rudy is an incredible strong illustration of having a “burning desire“, one of the principles from Think And Grow Rich, my all-time favorite book on personal development and success. All the way though the movie, Rudy never expects special treatment. He’s willing to do whatever it takes, and the size of his heart becomes an inspiration to everyone around him. Rudy is a tremendous inspirational movie that illustrates many of the secrets found in Think And Grow Rich. If you’ve never seen the movie, do yourself a favour and rent this movie! And then watch carefully for all of the various elements found in Think And Grow Rich — elements that, if you apply to your life, can have a massive impact on where you find yourself in a few years!]]>
