I can’t believe the Christmas countdown is really on! It feels like it should be somewhere around late October (though the weather’s been acting like a February deep freeze). Our team met today, and we’ve finalized the layout of our new office space and interiors that will be built out on to the top floor of the commercial building I own. I’m very excited, because this is the first time in about 15 years where I’ve actually built out space new for my own company, as opposed to just buying something and moving into whatever was there. Like the old story of the shoemaker whose kids had no soles on their shoes, even though I’m in real estate I’ve never taken the time to build out our own space. Well, that changes in January. Since we’ve been able to fully lease out our office building, there is no space for us to move temporarily while we build our new office space.. so we’re going to be working through the renovations, which is not a lot of fun. But, the results will be worth it, and a few of us will be out of the office entirely in January and February for 2-3 weeks executing the MasterWealth Program. It’s funny how so many people never stop to do the things they could to improve their own environment, often until it’s too late to matter. At our house, there are about 87 things that we keep meaning to do, but never have the time. Little things like hanging pictures and mirrors. Bigger projects like getting the garage windows replaced. We’ve been getting better about getting the little things done on the list, and did some renovations this year that really made a difference to the house. In the real estate business, it’s funny how people will live in a house for years with things that really need to be done, but they never do it.. and the only time they do is when they go to sell the house! Half the time, they re-think selling altogether after they’ve done the work, because they realize they actually love the house and don’t want to move once they see what it looks like finished! People are funny, no doubt about it.]]>
