And Baby Makes Three

Raylene and I are expecting our first baby, due at the end of March 2008! We’ve talked about a family for a long time, and it is finally happening.  It’s amazing how everything in my life fell away from my mind when Raylene broke the news to me .. I was very emotional and had a sense of fulfilment unlike I’ve ever felt when she first told me those words .. “I’m pregnant!” I thought she was joking at first as this came as a bit of a surprise — but once I realized this wasn’t one of her practical jokes, I was overcome with emotion, with all of these incredible thoughts running through my mind. My first thought of when I was a little boy, and what it must have been like for my mom and dad when they discovered they were expecting my big brother James.  I also immediately thought about my mom, and what her reaction was going to be when we told her she was going to finally be a grandmother!  As I expected, the reaction was probably as emotional and excited as any grandma-to-be has ever reacted. Here’s a photo from the ultrasound we did a little while ago: First baby photo Judging from the size of the baby’s head, this kid clearly is mine. This is the biggest piece of the puzzle in terms of everything I’ve had for goals and dreams in my life.  After focusing great attention on the real estate investing and training businesses over the past few years, I am very blessed now to be in a position where I have a tremendous team around me who can continue to build and manage the businesses, while I have the chance to focus on my new family in 2008. Raylene and I now get to settle in and enjoy some of the hard work, and spend lots of time doing what I think is the most important thing I can do in my life – be a great parent and role model. As a result, this is going to mean I do less training and travelling once the baby is born.  I’ll complete the MasterWealth 2008 program next year, and then future commitments will be minimal as I enjoy my new role as “daddy”, which Raylene has taken to calling me. Many of my friends tell me, there’s just nothing like having a baby and being a dad.  Given the feelings I already have, this doesn’t surprise me, and I can’t wait until the day when our new baby arrives and we start the next phase of our life! Congratulations, Sherry and Al, for the announcement of your first grandchild!  We’ll do our best to raise him or her well and make you proud!]]>
